(Disclaimer: For the protection of my children, I'm not naming names or giving all the details. Please know there is so much more to this situation than I can write about here!)

A very devastating divorce left my three young children and I over 1000 miles from home without friends, family, or money. We were coming out of the pandemic and I was full-time at home with the kids homeschooling with no income, when he screamed that he would divorce me. I was forced to use credit for survival. Lawyer’s fees maxed out an entire credit card, leaving me to use other cards for bills and groceries. He also left me with IRS debt. Out of desperation, I was forced to take a job position in Florida which pays me 50% less than what I made for the same position previously in NYC. (And in case you're wondering, I did not receive any child support for the first two years after he blindsided me with the divorce and left me with the kids alone while he spent more time with his now current wife and their baby, which he hid from me. This was all before the divorce was even finalized. The child support I now receive is the same amount my own mother received 30 years ago from my father!)

Rent is high for the small apartment my kids and I live in, not to mention utilities, insurance, car payments - which is a necessity in an area where there is little to no mass transit - and groceries for rising teenagers. We also have several big medical bills. I recently had a biopsy that still cost into the 4-figures regardless of insurance. I've had to use more credit to pay for out-of-pocket medical costs. The insurance from my job has high premiums and isn't very good. Therefore, I need to eliminate my debt in order to provide for my kids.

I'm humbly asking for donations to help my children and I. Every day we deal with homesickness. Every day I worry about finances. Every day we wake up in the same place, while he comes and goes back home any time he pleases. By not being at home, we have missed family trips, reunions, birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. My family also does not have the means to fly 1000 miles to be with us often. They have missed mine and my children's birthdays, graduations, other school milestones and achievements. We have lost our community and neighbors. We have lost our freedom and he's relishing his. So, we suffer in silence as the consequences of his actions affect our every waking hour.
