Support a Disabled Mom's Fight for Their Queer Family

Hi everyone! I am reaching out to you today on behalf of a dear friend of mine, Willow, and their two children, who are both in their early teens.

Willow was married for over a decade and has only gotten divorced within the last year. Willow has worked tirelessly to support their two children as a stay-at-home parent; balancing educational needs, accessing medical care for the children's disabilities, and obtaining mental health care. Willow is deeply familiar with their children's experience, as they are trans and disabled themself.

After over a year of fighting to provide for their children's medical and emotional needs, Willow is locked in a legal battle with their ex-husband, who is threatening to take away care that is vital to the mental, physical, and gender-affirming needs of the children. (They are currently in mediation, which has resulted in little movement on either side, and closer movement towards a hearing.) On top of all this, Willow has to move out by the end of July, leaving them with very little time and resources. Willow is worried that they will not be able to house their children if they do not have enough for an apartment upfront, in tandem with paying for legal and medical fees.

Your donation would go towards helping Willow with their legal fees ($3,000 on the retainer for their lawyer alone, on top of additional hourly fees,) costs associated with moving, and helping to pay for their children's therapy and medical care. Any amount helps.
