It breaks my heart to share that a fellow registered nurse — and devoted single mother — has been unjustly thrust into unemployment following a single false accusation that now leaves her fighting for her license.

Despite years of exemplary service, glowing performance reviews, and heartfelt praise from both patients and colleagues, she was abruptly placed on leave without pay and has since lost her health insurance — going from a full-time income to absolutely nothing, overnight, with a school-age child to support.

She has taken every possible step to clear her name and defend her integrity. Despite only circumstantial evidence, she had everything taken from her. This, even after a negative 90-day hair follicle drug test proved she had no controlled substances in her system, which the employer refused to review.

This wasn’t a pattern. It wasn’t misconduct. It was one isolated incident, with entirely circumstantial evidence, that has cost her everything.

This isn’t just about a job — it’s about big corporations throwing hardworking, innocent nurses under the bus to protect themselves, treating us like disposable numbers and not humans. This could happen to any of us.

It’s also about a mother’s ability to provide for her child, and a nurse’s right to continue doing the work she loves, with pride and integrity.
