This is an urgent call for support.

A beloved friend of ours—someone deeply cherished and quietly powerful in their care for others—is currently facing an overwhelming financial crisis. Out of respect for their privacy, we’re keeping their name anonymous, but we hope you’ll feel their story and the love that surrounds them just the same.

They are a queer, BIPOC individual who has always moved through the world with fierce love, resilience, and care for others. After flying across the country last minute to care for their grandmother in hospice, losing their job within the same 2 week period, and then 1 month later, illegally losing access to functioning gas and clean water (that required immediate $$$ legal action), they have exhausted their savings and are now on the brink of losing essential stability—housing, transportation, and the basic ability to meet their needs. The stress is real and mounting.

Despite all of this, they’ve continued to show up for grieving friends, offer support when asked, and hold space for others with grace and generosity—often while hiding their own struggles.

Now, they need us.

Let’s rally around them and help lift this burden. Let’s give them the chance to breathe, to rest, to keep their home and car, and to continue searching for work without the constant fear of being uprooted.

We’re asking for urgent contributions to cover the following critical expenses:

-Past-due car payment (vehicle at risk of repossession)

-Past-due rent

-Overdue phone bill and PG&E

-Specialty food for their disabled cat with dietary restrictions

-Groceries and daily essentials

-Gas for transportation

Your donation—no matter the amount—goes directly to keeping someone safe, fed, housed, and mobile in a time of deep vulnerability. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this with your networks.

Also, any information about job openings within Oakland/ Oakland’s surrounding towns would also be helpful.

She has an extensive and eclectic skill set, and is open to work pertaining to:

-Advertising/ Marketing (within an ad agency, or free-lance roles!)

-executive/personal assistance

-administrative management

-local barista/cafe work

-gardening/ landscaping gigs
