Support Marah and Osama’s Rebuilding in Gaza
A Love Story Under the Weight of War: Marah and Osama
I am Marah Alhinde, working in digital marketing, and my husband is Osama Alemawi, working in the field of law. Our lives were moving towards joy as we got engaged on January 13, 2023, and were supposed to celebrate our wedding on April 19, 2024. We dreamed of a beautiful wedding day, where I imagined myself wearing a white wedding dress surrounded by family and friends. In addition, we bought an apartment during our engagement, planning to live in it after our wedding. Unfortunately, fate had something else in store for us.
The war broke out in Gaza, completely changing our lives. Instead of celebrating our wedding, we found ourselves in a small tent under the open sky, with no celebration, no guests, and I was wearing ordinary clothes instead of the white dress I had always dreamed of. Although love was present, tears preceded the joy. To make matters worse, the apartment we had bought with so much hope and excitement was completely destroyed in the war.
The war was more brutal than we could face alone. I lost my job at Mezian Agency, a place where I had poured all my effort and ambition, while Osama lost his law office, which was his source of income. Everything was destroyed, and we are now unemployed.
Today, we are doing our best to stand up again and rebuild our lives, but the current situation in Gaza makes it extremely difficult to start over. We need your support to overcome these challenges, and we hope your contributions can help us restore hope and the ability to rebuild our lives away from the destruction caused by the war.
We invite you to help us in starting fresh. Thank you for all your support, whether it is moral or financial.
