I’m walking the NJ Half Marathon with a 40-pound sandbag.
I haven’t trained for it. I give myself a 50/50 shot at finishing.
That’s the point.
When I decided to take this on, I realized it could be more than just a challenge — it could be an opportunity.
Suicide has impacted my life and my story. I’ve experienced loss tied to it, and for a long time, I didn’t talk about it.
I resented it. I didn’t understand it.
Over time, I’ve come to a different place with it. It shaped me, pushed me toward MMA, and helped me grow into who I am today — even if I still wish it didn’t happen.
And I think that’s part of the problem — when nobody talks about it, nobody knows where to turn.
So this is me doing something different.
I’m raising money for 988 — the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Three digits.
Real people. Free. Confidential. Always there.
I chose this because I didn’t want to just “raise awareness.”
I wanted to support something that actually shows up when someone needs it.
When someone calls or texts 988, a real person answers. That’s what your donation supports.
My goal is $1,000. Help if you can.
And if you ever need it — call or text 988.
