“We were there when you needed us”
Hundreds of trained crisis counselors are being silenced.
Who stood by thousands through their darkest moments.
Now they ask: Who stands with us?
On July 17, the "Press 3" specialized network for LGBTQIA+ youth who call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline will be shut down due to funding cuts.
Last year, more than 500,000 youth used the "Press 3" option and received life-saving support.
On top of the many lives of queer folk that lives are in danger, there is about 210 employees who are about to lose their jobs in 30 days. These are people who believed in the mission of supporting queer youth in crisis. Meeting them with empathy, kindness and created a safe space to talk.
Every counselor on this line was passionate about this important mission, who are devastated by this life altering decision, and is now asking for your help. Many of these employees have similar stories to the people they have helped in crisis on top of being apart of multiple marginalized groups. Many of them will be unable to pay rent, buy food, pay medical bills and so much more to survive.
If you can please donate it would mean the world to them and all proceeds will be going back to these life saving crisis workers. If you are unable to donate please share and ask your loved ones to share too.
