9 Families Displaced by Devastating Brooklyn Fire – We Lost Everything
My name is Yuderki Rosa, and I owned and operated the grocery store at 927 Grand Street in Brooklyn, NY. After a devastating 4-alarm fire destroyed our building, I am organizing this fundraiser to support 9 families, including my own, who lost their homes and everything they had.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, around 10 PM, a devastating 4-alarm fire tore through our building at 927 Grand Street in Brooklyn, NY 11211, leaving total destruction behind.
The fire completely destroyed the grocery store on the ground floor and all four apartments above it, displacing 9 families in an instant. Everything we owned—our homes, belongings, and livelihoods—was lost. After the fire, the Department of Buildings (DOB) and the Fire Marshal determined that the structure was unsafe and made the decision to demolish the building, leaving nothing but debris.
In addition, a neighboring building was partially burned, affecting even more members of our community.
We are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over from nothing. Many of us escaped with only the clothes we were wearing. Families have lost furniture, clothing, important documents, and cherished personal items. The grocery store, which supported our families and served the community, is gone.
We are raising funds to help cover immediate and essential needs, including:
• Temporary housing and relocation costs
• Food and daily necessities
• Clothing and basic supplies
• Replacing essential documents
• Supporting families with children and elderly members
• Beginning the long process of rebuilding our lives
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others.
We are deeply grateful for your support during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for standing with us.
