Dear 7 Mile House friends, family and community,
We hope you’re all doing well. When we closed our doors on March 17 after Bay Area’s mandated shelter-in-place order, we were scared but hopeful. We wanted to prioritize our staff, our musicians and patrons’ health and safety so although the decision was hard, we knew it was the right thing to do.
Since then, we’ve been doing our part in flattening the curve with you: staying at home, washing our hands, practicing social distancing and taking care of ourselves and our families the best way we can. We’re all facing the toughest of times at the moment, with what we know as “normal” forever changed.
So many of you have reached out to see how you can help during this time and we’re grateful for having us in your thoughts.
Today, we’re setting up the 7 Mile House Support Fund to raise money for our dedicated staff you know and love and their daily needs: paying rent, recovering wages, buying groceries and making ends meet.
From the friendly faces you see in the front and making sure you’re seated comfortably, the bartenders who know your go-to drinks and cocktails, our cooks who prepare, chop and dice your favorite sisig, the server who brings the sizzling plate over to your table to the bar backs and the dishwashers who keep 7 Mile House running and alive--everyone doing their part to give you an experience like no other--these are the people who need your help the most.
If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it’s that we have a strong community. Every donation will be felt a thousand-fold, your dollar supporting a place and the people that continue to uphold the legacy of a woman-owned historical institution at the intersection of San Francisco, Brisbane and Daly City.
Thank you so much for your time and for reading our message. If you’re not able to donate at the moment, you can share this fundraiser or send us a message of hope. We all miss you terribly, and we can’t wait to see you soon.
See you (soon!) at the 7,
Vanessa Garcia and the 7 Mile House staff
