27 UNIHTED is a grassroots, volunteer-run community formed by former National Institutes of Health (NIH) employees. We are scientists, researchers, and experts in a variety of fields… all who share a deep compassion for public service and upholding the NIH mission and building an innovative future for biomedical research.
What We Do
We seek to advance the future of science and research for human health by:
- Upholding scientific research and fostering scientific integrity,
- Serving all health research communities through collaboration, education, and building peer support networks,
- Supporting health equity and the public good through the inclusion of diverse populations in health and scientific research, and
Re-imagining the future of health and biomedical research structures at NIH and beyond.
Our community is made up of people who served the public with passion and integrity. We believe in science, public health, and the NIH mission.
Why We Need Your Help
Our group is led completely by volunteers, many of whom are dealing with the devastation of losing their NIH jobs and now facing uncertainty and financial instability. They’re turning grief into action by dedicating time and expertise to support others in the NIH community, defending their rights, and amplifying their stories. But they need your help to keep this important work going by feeding their families and paying for basic operating costs.
Your gift will help cover:
- Basic operating costs (jotform, zoom) as we look to gain 501 C status
- Expansion of our educational, advocacy, and community programs
- Initial stipends for our dedicated staff working 70-80 hours a week without pay
