After Hurricane Helene, the entire staff of 14 employees at J. Meraki Beauty Emporium teamed up and restored their small business by cutting drywall, cleaning up, and saving items that were not destroyed by that flood. Just 11 days after Helene, this small family-owned business was devastated again by flood waters with Hurricane Milton. Hurricane Milton was much worse and less than two weeks later when they were trying so hard to reopen.
Jackie Stover-Russell, who grew up in Punta Gorda (a lovely, small town where community and families thrive), started her dream business just three years ago and currently has 13 employees but has been overwhelmed with flood waters twice WITHOUT flood insurance to cover the damages.
Let’s all, if you can, donate and support this lovely shop to get these hardworking and well-deserving girls back on their feet. This not only helps one business, but 14 families recover. We all know salon employees live on mostly commissions, so if you can pitch in $14 (just $1 per person) or $140, it all helps and will go DIRECTLY TO EACH EMPLOYEE EVENLY. The salon is not asking for money directly but for the individual employees who will be receiving it during this difficult time off as they are closed until able to reopen.
I'm a friend of all of these employees and every single one deserves this help from you if you can! Please help as every dollar will be appreciated.
