The Maywood Community consists of a diverse population including 75% African American and approximately 20% Latino. The average household income of ~ $48,000 with 19 % living below the poverty line. Maywood is one of America’s food deserts where many low-income residents have trouble finding fresh foods. The greater Maywood community, like so many across our country, is facing astounding difficulties during this time. Many families are struggling to provide basic necessities such as food.

As a medical community located in Maywood, many of these statistics are the patients we care for, including their families and loved ones. We want to do what we can to help.

Currently, the demand is greater than the capacity. Many families are being turned away from food pantries that do not have enough food. We ask that you partner with us in a broad initiative, “Feeding Maywood”. We will partner with Proviso Partners for Health and raise funds to support ongoing food drives in the Maywood area. All funds will go directly to Proviso Partners for Health to increase their food donating capacity. A donation of $1.00 or more is all it takes to play your part.

A ​$25 donation can provide food for a family for an entire week.
