Supply clean drinking water to communities in Uganda
My name is Laura. This year, I have taken some time out from teaching to travel, experience new places and meet new people. One of the experiences I am really excited about is an upcoming trip to Uganda in June. I will be travelling with a charity group called Fields of Life. The work they do in helping poor communities in East Africa is truly transformative. By helping to raise money to drill a well, not only can we provide fresh, clean drinking water for a whole community, we are helping to protect families from deadly diseases caused by dirty water, water that these people had no choice but to drink. We are also helping to protect young girls, whose job it was to walk for miles each day to fetch water, leaving them vulnerable to attack and causing them to miss out on the opportunity to receive an education.
I am currently 1/5 of the way towards reaching my goal of walking 200km by the 20th of May. Your support would mean a lot to me!
Well-drilling is just one way that Fields of Life have impacted upon the lives of many villages and communities. To find out more, please visit their page at https://fieldsoflife.org/
