On any given night, over 6,000 people in Washington DC experience homelessness, almost 1 out of every 100 residents in our capital. In our neighborhood, tents line underpasses in the shadows of national landmarks, and the threat of eviction continues to spread across the country. With COVID-19 disrupting services and resources and colder weather fast approaching, unhoused communities must also weather a global pandemic on top of hunger, thirst, freezing temperatures, police sweeps, and apathy.
Can you help us provide supplies to DC's unsheltered residents? Each care kit includes masks, hand sanitizer, socks, snacks, water, and hygiene supplies. Here's how much of a difference each contribution makes:
$5 = 5 bottles of hand sanitizer
$10 = 50 bottles of water
$20 = 80 disposable masks
$50 = 50 pairs of socks
Thank you for your support and together we can help provide for some of the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our backyard!
In gratitude,
Emma and Alec,
H-St Corridor residents, Washington, D.C.
*All proceeds will be spent on ordering supplies for care kits, which will be distributed in DC's Ward 6, just east of the White House.*
