Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to share a deeply painful situation our family is facing and to ask for your support. My sister’s husband, a loving father, husband, and son, has been unjustly separated from his family after years of following the legal process to obtain his permanent residency.

For over 7 years, he has diligently attended his immigration check-ups every 6 months, doing everything the right way. He has always been a law-abiding individual, working hard to provide for his family and build a better life for them. However, during his most recent check-up, he encountered an immigration agent who disregarded his legal process and, within just 3 hours, he was deported to Mexico—before his lawyer could intervene with the proper paperwork to stop this from happening.

This has left our family devastated. My sister is now left to shoulder the immense responsibility of being the sole provider and caretaker for their two young children: Adriel, who is 7 years old (soon to be 8) and deeply close to his dad, and Camila, their 4-year-old daughter. Camila has been diagnosed with Autism and meets special education eligibility criteria for both Autism and Speech and Language Impairment due to significant expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language delays. She struggles with verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction skills, and her father has been her rock—helping her navigate daily routines, providing emotional support, and ensuring she feels safe and understood.

Adriel, who is passionate about sports, is also feeling the weight of his father’s absence. His dad was his biggest supporter, never missing a soccer practice or game. They were both excitedly looking forward to Adriel starting baseball this season, something they had been talking about for months. Now, Adriel is left without his number one supporter , and the joy they shared over these moments has been replaced with a separation between them .

He also leaves behind his father, whom he visited weekly and shared a close bond with. The pain of this separation is felt by everyone who loves him.

We are working tirelessly with his lawyer to bring him home, but the legal process is costly and time-consuming. In the meantime, my sister is facing the overwhelming burden of managing the household, caring for the kids, and handling all the financial responsibilities on her own.

We are humbly asking for your help to support my sister and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Any donations will go directly toward covering legal fees to fight for his return and helping my sister with the immediate financial needs of raising two children, one of whom requires specialized care and support.

Les escribo para compartir una situación muy dolorosa por la que está pasando nuestra familia y para pedir su apoyo. El esposo de mi hermana, un padre amoroso, un esposo dedicado y un hijo ejemplar, fue injustamente separado de su familia después de años de seguir el proceso legal para obtener su residencia permanente.

Durante más de 7 años, él asistió diligentemente a sus revisiones de inmigración cada 6 meses, haciendo todo de la manera correcta. Siempre ha sido una persona respetuosa de la ley, trabajando duro para mantener a su familia y construir un mejor futuro para ellos. Sin embargo, durante su última revisión, se encontró con un agente de inmigración que no respetó su proceso legal y, en solo 3 horas, fue deportado a México—antes de que su abogado pudiera intervenir con los documentos necesarios para evitar esto.

Esto ha dejado a nuestra familia devastada. Mi hermana ahora tiene que cargar con la enorme responsabilidad de ser la única proveedora y cuidadora de sus dos pequeños hijos: Adriel, de 7 años (pronto cumplirá 8), quien es muy unido a su papá, y Camila, su hija de 4 años. Camila ha sido diagnosticada con autismo y cumple con los criterios de educación especial tanto para autismo como para trastorno del habla y lenguaje debido a retrasos significativos en el lenguaje expresivo, receptivo y pragmático. Ella lucha con la comunicación verbal y no verbal, así como con las habilidades de interacción social, y su padre ha sido su apoyo fundamental—ayudándola con sus rutinas diarias, brindándole apoyo emocional y asegurándose de que se sienta segura y comprendida.

Adriel, quien es apasionado por los deportes, también está sintiendo el peso de la ausencia de su padre. Su papá era su mayor apoyo, nunca faltaba a sus prácticas o partidos de fútbol. Ambos estaban emocionados por el inicio de la temporada de béisbol de Adriel, algo que habían estado planeando y esperando con ansias durante meses. Ahora, Adriel se ha quedado sin su principal apoyo, y la alegría que compartían en esos momentos ha sido reemplazado con una distancia.

También deja atrás a su padre, a quien visitaba semanalmente y con quien compartía una relación muy cercana. El dolor de esta separación lo sentimos todos los que lo queremos.

Estamos trabajando incansablemente con su abogado para traerlo de vuelta a casa, pero el proceso legal es costoso y lleva tiempo. Mientras tanto, mi hermana enfrenta la abrumadora carga de manejar el hogar, cuidar a los niños y cubrir todas las responsabilidades financieras por su cuenta.

Humildemente les pedimos su ayuda para apoyar a mi hermana y su familia durante este momento tan difícil. Cualquier donación se destinará directamente a cubrir los gastos legales para luchar por su regreso y ayudar a mi hermana con las necesidades financieras inmediatas de criar a dos niños, uno de los cuales requiere cuidados y apoyo especializados.
