Suport Mary Valentines Children
Donation protected
On January 23, 2024, Mary Valentine tragically lost her life while working a smolt trap on the Duckabush River, near Brinnon, Washington. Mary was a cheerful, independent, and passionate person, and her passing has left a void in her family and in her work community. Mary had recently decided to turn her passion for the ocean and the outdoors into a career. She was the first from her family to attend college and received a degree in Biology from Western Washington University in 2022. Short-term positions in fisheries science followed, and she dreamed of securing a permanent biologist position.
Mary was so proud of her children, Tyler and Ashley, for also pursuing their passions, and she did all she could to support them. Tyler, age 27, shares Mary’s love of the ocean- he works as a commercial crab fisher off the Washington coast. Ashley, age 22, is pursuing her degree in Product Design at Portland State University, with plans to graduate in March 2024. Ashley recently earned an award for her ceramic work, and traveled to Sweden to showcase several lamps of her own design.
Please help support Mary’s children Tyler and Ashley. Our initial goal is to raise $10K to cover immediate expenses as the family adjusts to life without Mary. Our long-term goal is to raise $40K to help Ashley and Tyler achieve their goals. Any donation, no matter how small, will help ease financial concerns and hardship. Thank you!!
