Help Save Scout Youth Training Yacht

After four years of very hard restoration work, rebuilding to accommodate  youngsters and fund raising by volunteers of 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scout Group, the training yacht - SUPETA was launched, ready to serve the young people and those less able.  Giving the very unique opportunity to learn teamwork, responsibility, new skills, make friends and simply have fun. There is no other known charity based yachts in the area that can offer this. A tremendous opportunity indeed.

Please see www.supeta.co.uk for the story and pictures.

The Pandemic first lockdown caused all work to stop and then tighter restrictions after launch have prevented any use of SUPETA at all.  She has sat at her mooring ready to use but unable to have an eager young crew onboard.  However all the associated costs such as insurance, mooring costs, shelf life safety equipment etc still keep rolling in and is very close to all the funds raised being  wiped out .  The training yacht with so many youngsters eager to use and benefit from, is within an inch of  failing before even getting started unless funds are raised.  54217456_1611749133399908_r.jpeg
