While I  was once walking in New York City one winter day I  saw a homeless man holding a sign asking not for money, or food, he felt invisible and was asking for someone to take time to talk to him. I sat with him for a bit. We talked and shared our stories, philosophies and one or two jokes.

It was nearly Super Bowl Sunday, and I had a moment of inspiration. I coordinated a Super Bowl party at a rooftop bar in Manhattan and invited five homeless men I met on the streets to join. That was in 2017. 

For 2018 we hosted a Super Soul Party in New York City and Los Angeles and for 2019 we are once again hosting a party in New York City this time working with a local shelter so we can help even more than we have ever have before.

Our goal for 2020 is to host a party in 20 states (and our long term goal is every state in the US) - to bring those who are experiencing homelessness and the community together.  To build human connections, bring back dignity and self respect and bring awareness to the fact that there are many people out there who feel alone and a healthy first step is to share an experience and what can be better than some hot food, cold drinks, and the Super Bowl!

 All 50 states have a homeless population and Super Bowl parties. By combining the two, a beautiful opportunity is created to include a population most often left out, in one of the biggest social events of the year. The Super Bowl is so powerful because its a unifying force. Fans of either (or neither) team come from all different backgrounds, are all different races, income levels, and genders. It’s the perfect time to reach out to those in our communities who often have little support and say, “hey, I see you, wanna join my party?”
