Super 8 of the Original Eight

An archeological dig of priceless proportion!!
Do you recall the family Super 8 film festivals hosted by David and Nancy?
I believe all of the Original 8 and Thirty 3rds have starring roles in at least one reel. Those old reels have been gathered from Uncle David's possessions and are awaiting rediscovery. They one of a kind!
Well actually, they are hundreds of a kind, hundreds of old, brittle super 8 reels, with long unwatched gems of family outings: Lake Powell, PineView Reservoir, the old Homestead, on-on-one moments with aunts, uncles and kids interacting with David the filmmaker.
The films are old and brittle, needing special care. Most aren't labeled so determining the "value" of any reel can't really be done until after it's been converted into a viewable format (MPG, DVD, etc.)
Imagine the the excitement of the Aunts and Uncles (remaining five), if we, the remaining 3rds can surprise them with video clips of Grandpa being the Godfather at a family event, Grandma shying away from the camera. Imagine the thrill of our own kids and grandkids seeing a 20 or 30 year old Mare, Barbara, Richard, Elaine or Carolyn.
Think of the fun of seeing any of us, the 3rd generation as we were, back then!
We aren't certain how much it will cost to convert these old films, but we're hopeful that the $5,000 estimate will be sufficient to complete the job or make a sizable dent in this archaeological expedition.
The estimate equates to roughly $200 ea. for those of us remaining 3rd generation. Any funds unused will be returned proportionate to the contributions made.
Please consider participating to your comfort level. Everyone will get access to the converted tapes/files irrespective of participation in the funding.
(Today 10/21, is David's birthday)
ps. If you'd prefer to contribute using a method other than GoFundMe, feel free to send a check via mail: Wm. Reiser, 343 Aylesbury Court, Westerville, OH 43082. Or you can use Venmo at my phone number [phone redacted] Or all funds received will be pooled and put toward the conversion costs. THANKS
