My sweet friend Annie just lost her daughter in October to Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or DIPG. She was 9 years old. Annie was a single mom and Claire was her only child. To say that Claire was her world is an understatement. She's the type of mom that always put Claire before herself.
This will be Annie's first Christmas without her sweet girl and I wanted to do something to brighten her spirits. The first thing that came to mind was to create a feeling of new beginnings, motivation and hope for better days in her home. This past year Annie opened her doors to many volunteers, caregivers, medical supplies, and animals that were such a help to Claire during her courageous battle. All the comings and goings left much wear and tear on the home.
My goal is to raise money to replace flooring and furniture and to repaint the interior of the home. I just want her to be able to wake up each day feeling refreshed and recharged to take on the day. So many of you have shared your beautiful talents of drawings and paintings and we are excited to display those as part of the home renovation.
I do interior design and I will work with volunteers and Annie to come up with a design that she loves. I will be sure to post pictures so that you can all see the progress along the way.
Thank you so much for all your kind hearts and donations! I know this is not an easy time of year to donate but this will mean so much to Annie.
