Sunshine Charities Corp: Group Homes

My name is Teresha Rue, and I have followed my heart to become a servant of our community. I recently founded Sunshine Charities Corp, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping boys and girls ages 16–21 who are homeless or aging out of the foster care system in Essex County, NJ.

Too often, young people who age out of foster care find themselves without a safety net. Many face homelessness, unemployment, and hopelessness at a time when they should be building their futures. Sunshine Charities Corp was created to change that story—to provide safe housing, mentorship, and resources so these young men and women can thrive.

Our Mission

To establish two transitional dwellings: one for boys and one for girls.

To create a headquarters where youth can access guidance, education, and support.

To provide stability, love, and opportunity for those who need it most.

We have already secured:
