Sumo’s Surgery to Walk Again
Donation protected
Hai everyone, my name is Alyssa and I am fundraising for support for my French bulldog named Sumo. If you know me, you know my sidekick well. I have been fortunate enough to bring him everywhere with me: to events my friends throw, to work with Tasty Tings, thrifting, out to lunch and the park! He’s been treasured by anyone we’ve crossed paths with.
On Tuesday evening, I noticed he was behaving a little differently. He didn’t want to hop on the couch to snuggle after a long day we spent out with family, so I let him sleep it off. In the morning, he became very stiff and more uncomfortable with the inability to sit properly. After a few hours of discomfort, we brought him into the vet. With some proper analysis, they concluded he may need more rest unless his mobility became worse. And it has, and it has been heartbreaking for me to watch. His hind legs are no longer functioning due to a herniated disc. I’ve considered remedying at home, but with the critical level he is in, surgery would be his best chance at being independent and walking again.
If you have ever met Sumo, you know he loves to put on a show! He adores attention, belly rubs and to be cradled like a baby. I’m asking on behalf of my son, if you could help speed up to road to recovery in donating to his surgery. The success rate with the procedure being done sooner than later is 90% and we are in the early stages of his diagnosis. Please, if you could help in any way, even sending a picture of the time you’ve shared together, or by sharing this post would mean so much to the both of us.
Thank you for loving and caring for Sumo. I have never imagined my life to be as fun and playful without him. He brings so much joy to everyone he meets and he has helped me in more ways than I even knew possible.
