<div>It is with deep sadness that I say that <strong>my father's journey on this earth has come to an end</strong>. On Nov. 19, 2024, at 4:35 pm, we got the news that my father has officially been pronounced dead. It has been a very difficult year, quite frankly, and I've had to take a step back from everything this year for these difficult times, as he was in and out of the hospital for quite some time now.

<div>Everyone during this time is grieving for this loss and unfortunately must proceed on to the memorial and funeral services of <strong>my father, Miguel Angel Nolasco</strong>. My father was a hardworking caregiver for special education children, working at LAUSD for approximately 30 years. Throughout his career and as a father, he has done all he can to be the best he can be for us. As a husband, father, friend, brother, and uncle, I pray now he is in a better place and would truly appreciate any donations that can be made during these difficult times.

I have been fortunate enough to bring him everywhere with me: to events my friends throw, to work with Tasty Tings, thrifting, out to lunch and the park! He’s been treasured by anyone we’ve crossed paths with.

<div>On Tuesday evening, I noticed he was behaving a little differently. He didn’t want to hop on the couch to snuggle after a long day we spent out with family, so I let him sleep it off. In the morning, he became very stiff and more uncomfortable with the inability to sit properly. After a few hours of discomfort, we brought him into the vet. With some proper analysis, they concluded he may need more rest unless his mobility became worse. And it has, and it has been heartbreaking for me to watch. His hind legs are no longer functioning due to a herniated disc. I’ve considered remedying at home, but with the critical level he is in, surgery would be his best chance at being independent and walking again.

<div>If you have ever met Sumo, you know he loves to put on a show! He adores attention, belly rubs and to be cradled like a baby. I’m asking on behalf of my son, if you could help speed up to road to recovery in donating to his surgery. The success rate with the procedure being done sooner than later is 90% and we are in the early stages of his diagnosis. Chris was a hard working truck driver for 10 years and above all he was a loving son, little brother, and uncle who touched the lives of every single person around him. He was known for his boundless love, laughter, selflessness, and dedication to family and friends.
