Summit for Ubuntu: A Climb To Change Lives - November 2025

Dear friends, family, and supporters,
This year, I’ll be fulfilling one of my lifelong dreams: hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. But this journey is about more than just the mountain — it’s about the story I carry with me and the children I’m climbing for.
As you may know, I’ve lived with epilepsy since birth. It’s been a constant part of my life, bringing challenges, uncertainty, and important lessons in resilience. But through it all, I’ve been incredibly fortunate — with access to medication, quality healthcare, and a loving support system that has allowed me to live a full, thriving life.
Sadly, many children don’t have that chance.
That's why this November, I’ll be hiking Kilimanjaro with our Index Select partner, Dismass Kilimanjaro Experiences, to raise at least $5,000 for Ubuntu Life Foundation — an inspiring nonprofit in Kenya that supports children with neurological disorders, including epilepsy.
In April 2025, I had the life-changing opportunity to visit Ubuntu Life in Kenya. I met the doctors, therapists, and foundation leaders working tirelessly to care for children with epilepsy and other complex conditions — often in communities where these disorders are deeply misunderstood.
While visiting Ubuntu Life, I heard powerful stories of healing and transformation:
- Children once rejected are now laughing and learning.
- Parents are being educated to better understand and support their kids.
- Community-wide efforts to destigmatize neurological disorders and replace shame with love and acceptance.
Ubuntu Life doesn’t just provide therapy and treatment — it provides hope. And now, I want to help them do even more.
Every step I take up that mountain will be in honor of these children — kids who deserve the same opportunities I’ve been blessed with.
