Summit for SERVE in Solidarity

Hello,
Our names are Sarah O'Sullivan and Emma Mc Sweeney.
We have been picked to go on a 4 week volunteering Program with the Serve in Solidarity Charity to Bangalore, India this summer.

In order to raise funds for this worthwhile cause, we have decided to embark on a climb up Carrauntoohill. On April 7th, 2025, we will climb to the 1,039m tall summit! The money we raise will be used to cover the cost of the project, to give a donation to both the community and the partners we will be working with, and to cover the cost of materials that we will be using on the projects.
SERVE is a development and volunteering organization (CHY 18154) committed to tackling the root causes of poverty to achieve justice, equality and opportunities for all. SERVE strives to do this by working in solidarity, service, and partnership with marginalized and oppressed communities. Since 2003 SERVE has worked to improve the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people in Southern Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. SERVE specifically supports children, young people, and women in our partner communities.

We will be working in Bangalore, India and are fundraising to financially support projects there. We will work with two of Serve's partners, The Association of People with Disabilities (APD) and Sumanahalli. With these partners, we will be working to facilitate the needs of seriously disabled people, to recognise their potential and help rebuild their lives. APD accomplishes this through medical intervention, appropriate education, vocational training as well as financial and emotional support.
Sumanahalli is a leprosy and HIV rehabilitation centre in Bangalore. This centre works to fully integrate those who have been affected with leprosy into mainstream society through treatment, education, and employment. Sumanahalli also provides services for those with HIV by providing both Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) treatment/rehabilitation and life-skills training for people under its care. In addition, education is provided for children sufferers.
We would appreciate if you can support this worthwhile cause, your contribution will make a meaningful difference to the lives and wellbeing of those who need it most.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh! :)
