Summi Marathon - Blossom Trust & PEARL

Hi, I am running the 2022 Niagara Falls Marathon to fundraise for Blossom Trust and PEARL.

Any donations would be gratefully appreciated!

Blossom Trust started as a charity that supported underprivileged undergrad students in Sri Lanka in 2012 and has expanded their projects to Education, Mental Health, Women Empowerment, Children Care, Agricultural Support and Covid Support.

They have recently accomplished multiple Library Projects, Widow Empowerment Projects, and Mental Health Support, English Language and Covid Support Projects.

Ongoing projects include their Jaffna and Eastern University student financial support programme and Mannikavasafar Illam orphanage.

Their new projects are in Agricultural support includes a community well project, housing and wellbeing support as well as Masters Studies Support

PEARL - People for Equality and Relief in Lanka is run by human rights activists concerned about the situation in Sri Lanka

They started out in 2005 when a group of volunteers who went to Sri Lanka witnessed the human rights violations and hardships of tamil civilians affected by the conflict. Upon their return to the US they created PEARL to increase engagement between Americans and elected officials to urge the US Government to play a role in Sri Lanka.

Since then PEARL have been producing multiple reports, hosted many campaigns and events to raise awareness, developed legal arguments in efforts to advance formal tamil genocide recognition and much more.

PEARL attended the UNHRC sessions in Geneva a few weeks ago in order to ensure the centering of justice and accountability for atrocity crimes against the Tamil community during the ethnic conflict in the upcoming resolution.
