Hi! My name is Sarah Amelard and I am the owner of a singing teaching studio in Stouffville where I work with many talented adolescent musicians. However, in the summer, I step away from my regular teaching business to focus on a volunteer-based passion project that has been deeply meaningful to me since my own adolescent upbringing in Stouffville.
My passion project is a summer intensive program designed for highly skilled adolescent singers to engage with and connect to local seniors through music. We build a show together and tour to twelve senior living spaces, residences, and centres. I am passionate about making high quality musical performances accessible to older adults who would not normally have this kind of access. It serves as a platform to promote the arts and foster meaningful intergenerational connections in Stouffville and the broader York Region.
Year after year, we receive overwhelmingly positive feedback from local seniors, who share how deeply these performances impact their lives. Likewise, it is a profoundly rewarding experience for the adolescents who often reflect on their personal growth, artistic development, and meaningful impact they’ve made in the community through this project.
This year, for a second year in a row, we are proud to be in partnership with the Whitchurch Stouffville Legacy Fund. However, we need your help! To make the program possible and high-quality, we’re seeking donations to help cover key expenses like rehearsal costs, music, costumes, sound equipment, travel, and meals for youth participants.
Donating to this initiative supports young artists in our community and enhances the well-being of seniors through music and social connection. Please help us make this project possible. It truly means so much
