Summer Survival Kit for the Homeless
Donation protected
Our area is going to be under an excessive heat warning this weekend. Temperatures are forecast to soar over 90° F and possibly 100° F this weekend in Western Washington. This will be a dangerous period for anyone outside, especially the children, the elderly, and pets.
So I have decided to collect donations for summer survival kits that myself and other volunteers will distribute to the local homeless population. I plan on passing them out with bottles of ice water from a cooler and possibly a cold snack like ice cream bars.
Listed below are the donations I want to collect. If I left out anything that you think would be helpful, please let me know. Donations can be dropped off at my office in downtown Edmonds. I will also accept cash donations so I can buy some of these items in bulk for the kits.
