Summer Food Pantry for Families in Need

When SNAP benefits were suspended in November, many families in our community suddenly faced new challenges putting food on the table. As a small business owner, I saw the impact firsthand and began raising money to purchase grocery gift cards for families in the three elementary schools nearby, Lawton, Blaine and Magnolia Elementary. The need is especially urgent during school breaks when children lose access to free breakfast and lunch programs that help keep them nourished.

This summer, we’re working to provide basic breakfast and lunch food items—non-perishable staples that can help families get through the months when school is out. If we’re able to raise enough, we’ll also continue offering grocery gift cards, giving families the flexibility to choose what works best for them. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting these families, ensuring that no child goes hungry while school is out.

With the state of our country right now, it’s hard to know what difference we can make. It can feel overwhelming. My dad always told me to take care of my little square, and this is what I can do to help my community and take care of my square. I invite you to join me in making a real impact for our neighbors. Your support means the world to these families, and together, we can make sure every child has enough to eat this summer.
