Suite à une fusillade, la famille Abdallah a besoin d’aide

Le 4 août 2024, alors que nous revenions de camping, 2 membres de ma famille et moi-même avons été pris dans une fusillade devant notre maison. Mon père, Houssam, a été atteint par 6 balles et mon frère a été atteint d’une balle. J’étais près d’eux, mais je n’ai pas été touchée. Ma mère et mon petit frère étaient dans la maison et ont été témoins d’une partie de la scène, soit de voir mon père et mon frère en sang par terre. Les policiers ne nous ont pas porté secours pendant au moins une heure… Je craignais pour la vie de mon père et de mon frère.

Par la suite, quand les policiers se sont finalement approchés de mon père et de mon frère, ils étaient munis de boucliers. Malgré la gravité des blessures qu’ils venaient de leur infliger, ils les ont menottés. Ce n’est que lorsque les ambulanciers ont insisté, que les menottes ont été retirées à mon père. Mon frère est resté menotté jusqu’à l’hôpital.

Nous vivons tous les conséquences de ce traumatisme. La vie de notre famille a été bouleversée et nous devons maintenant apprendre à composer avec cette nouvelle réalité au quotidien.

Le 4 août 2025, nous avons déposé une poursuite civile à l’encontre de la Ville de Montréal et des agents du Service de police de la Ville de Montréal impliqués dans l’intervention. Par cette poursuite, nous souhaitons obtenir une compensation pour les séquelles que nous subissons désormais en raison du manquement des policiers à leur devoir de protéger notre sécurité et notre intégrité.

On August 4, 2024, while we were returning from a camping trip, two members of my family and I were caught in a shooting in front of our home. My father, Houssam, was hit by six bullets, and my brother was hit by one. I was near them, but I was not injured. My mother and my little brother were inside the house and witnessed part of the scene — seeing my father and brother lying on the ground, covered in blood. The police did not come to our aid for at least an hour… I feared for the lives of my father and my brother.

Later, when the police finally approached my father and brother, they were equipped with shields. Despite the severity of the injuries they had just inflicted on them, they handcuffed them. It was only after the paramedics insisted that the handcuffs were removed from my father. My brother remained handcuffed until he arrived at the hospital. 

We are all living with the consequences of this trauma. Our family’s life has been turned upside down, and we now have to learn to cope with this new reality every day. 

On August 4, 2025, we filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Montreal and the officers of the Montreal Police Service involved in the incident. Through this lawsuit, we are seeking compensation for the lasting effects we now endure due to the police’s failure in their duty to protect our safety and integrity. We need your help to cover the costs related to the legal process (expert analyses and other fees) and to support our healing journey.
