Fundraising Campaign for Orphans of Deceased Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the United Kingdom.
Hi, my name is Doreen Ujama Hengari - Founder of the Flemmy Foundation and Asylum Seekers and Refugees Support Sanctuary. I am an Independent Social Worker and a community activist who is very passionate about social justice and community work. Being an "adult orphan" after losing both my beloved parents, I know and have experienced the pain of losing whether one parent or both. Fundraising for orphans is a cause very close to my heart as it helps orphans to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.
The campaign is to raise funds in support of single and double orphans from Namibia and Botswana whose parents fled persecution, sought asylum or were granted refugee status in the United Kingdom, and tragically passed away—often from illness, natural causes, or suspected suicide. As per the traditions and customs their remains are repatriated back to their Motherland whether Namibia or Botswana for parents, children, extended family and friends to pay their last respect and burial.
Our goal is to raise money to help cover immediate and long-term expenses such as clothing & school supplies. We are going to donate to the affected child the SUITCASE OF LOVE, JOY & HOPE which will be fully packed with clothing and school supplies. Our Suitcase of Love, Joy and Hope will accompany the repatriated remains and to arrive to that destination on that given time.
We are rallying together to make sure that orphans from the deceased asylum seeking parents, those granted refugee status in the UK are cared for, supported, and given the best possible future despite this devastating loss.
Your donation will bring a positive change to the orphans, their community and they will grow up to become responsible and contributing members of our communities.
Children become orphans and left with family members or grandparents who take on the caregiver role. Death leave them heartbroken, facing an uncertain future and a long road ahead as they navigate life without their mother or father or both parents. As they grieve and adjust to this heartbreaking reality, we want to ensure that their basic needs are taken care off.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support and solidarity.
“No child should endure this pain alone. Together, we can bring light into their darkest moments. Your kindness matters.”
With heartfelt gratitude,
Doreen Ujama Hengari
