Sue's Path to Hope and a Home
Donation protected
This is Sue. I met her in Seal Beach, and from the moment we spoke, I could tell she is a kind and gentle soul. Like many others in California, Sue has fallen on hard times due to the high cost of living. After losing her husband to cancer, she was evicted from her home. With no remaining family — her children tragically passed away in a drunk driving accident when they were just 15 — Sue has been left to navigate life on her own.
She has been living on the streets since February. I know it hurts her—sleeping in that chair every night, the cold seeping into her bones. She’s developed neuropathy, and each day brings a new layer of discomfort.
Despite everything she’s been through—the loss, the isolation, the relentless hardship—she remains warm. Resilient. Hopeful.
It’s hard to understand how someone can carry so much pain and still greet the world with a smile. But she does. Every day.
Sue will begin receiving $1,200 a month in benefits starting at the end of July, which will be a step toward stability. But right now, she needs help to get off the streets, find safe shelter, and begin to rebuild.
I’m starting this GoFundMe in hopes that those with the means can contribute even just $1, $2, or $5. Every little bit helps and goes directly to Sue’s immediate needs — shelter, food, and basic necessities.
Let’s show Sue she’s not alone. Let’s remind her there’s still love and kindness in this world.
With love,
