Hi, my name is Luz Delgado-Macias and im fundraising for my dear nephew Joel Macias to try and find ways to help support him and his baby girl through this sudden and unexpected loss.
On August 18th, 2023, after a week of intensive medical care at CPMC Hospital in San Francisco, CA, Karen Cruz Hernandez tragically and unexpectedly lost her young life due to complications arising from Covid.
Left behind is her cherished partner, Joel, and their precious 1-year-old daughter, Julieta, who recently just celebrated her 1st bday only a few weeks ago. The weight of this loss has cast a profound shadow on Joel and his baby girl, leaving them to navigate life without Karen's presence.
Joel finds himself grappling with the unimaginable, as he steps into the role of a single parent while processing the sudden and tragic absence of his beloved partner. The family's financial situation has been further complicated by the lack of savings, health insurance, and life insurance. As they face impending funeral expenses and hospital bills, they find themselves in an unforeseen financial crisis.
