Sucka Free Athletics (SFA) is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles to the local community via health in hip hop initiatives. One of the founding members is music artist and physical trainer Daniel "SunNY" Smith who coined SFA's mission: "We pass blessings, not judgment, while assisting others so they can help themselves."
North Metro Georgia Network for Educational & Therapeutic Supports, one of 24 programs across the state of Georgia that supports the local school district’s services for students with disabilities, does not have a physical education program for its students due to limited funds. Therefore, SFA has partnered with North Metro GNETS to provide free physical education sessions to its K-12 students starting in 2015. However, most of these kids don’t have the proper shoes necessary to participate in this program. We need your help so that we can get 63 pairs of gym shoes to these awesome kids! Our goal is to give each student in the program, one pair of gym shoes by 3/24 so that they can fully participate in the physical education sessions.
HOW YOU CAN ASSIST US
We are currently accepting monetary and/or gym shoe donations. Monetary donations can be submitted via this website. If you are in the Atlanta area, you can drop off new or gently used kids' gym shoes (kids/youth sizes 10-7 & adults sizes 6-10 for the high school students)at 390 Stovall St. SE (Glenwood East Apartments) M-Sa 10a-6p. A red donation bin is inside of the leasing office.
SFA will personally deliver gym shoes to the students. This will be documented via the
Sucka Free Athletics Facebook page.
