SU Delight Missions Trip

Hello Friends!

We are the SU Delight leadership team, and we are fundraising for a mission trip to Belize this coming January 2023.

Partnering with La Mano of Hope, a missions organization located in Hagerstown, Maryland, that provides outreach opportunities for volunteers to meet the needs of individuals worldwide (www.manohope.org). The outreach in January is an exciting opportunity to bless the local missions agency in Belize, KidzConnect4Jesus and the children and families in the community of Stann Creek, Belize. We have an opportunity to go and serve as volunteers in a medical clinic that KidzConnect4Jesus holds in impoverished communities on a quarterly basis. As a Delight team, we will be assigned the role of helping at the registration table, walking around, playing with kids, and telling people about the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Delight is all about the power of forming relationships centered around Christ. This mission trip helps us take that beyond our state and nation border to people who are desperate for loving connection.

One of SU Delight's verses is, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest but each of you to the interest of others" (Philippians 2:3-4). By participating in this trip, we are taking our ministry values transnational, and that will make an impact not only for the people that we are humbly serving in Belize, but will also spark other college organizations on the Shenandoah Campus to go beyond what seems like limits and reach for the impossible because that's where God is.

As a team, we genuinely believe that this is the right time for us as a leadership team (working on moving into the whole chapter with time) to start participating in missionary outreach. We ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us. The investment for each team member to participate is $1650.00. Please remember that by your support, you don’t just send me; you have a part in every life our team touches.

As a team of five, we have set a goal of $8,250 and though that seems like a lot, we believe that God will provide every single penny and maybe use you to help with that. We believe that a little bit from a whole lot of people will make this goal a reality.

Lastly, we covet your prayer support. I’m asking you to pray for safety, good health, smooth travel, and the provision of resources. Just knowing that you will be praying will give me peace as we take this giant leap of faith.
