Étudiants sans frontières 2019 - Uniterra Sri Lanka
Bonjour,
C'est encore moi :). Je vous explique. Dans le cadre de ma maîtrise en administration : Gestion du développement international et de l'action humanitaire à l'Université Laval, je dois faire un stage en gestion au niveau international dans un «pays en développement».
Je me suis alors tournée vers une cause qui me tient à cœur, soit la condition féminine dans les pays en développement. Avec un peu plus de recherches et une curiosité bien affûtée, j'ai fini par dégotter le stage idéal, soit: « Women and Youth Inclusion Officer (1244-087) avec Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVPL) à Hatton au Sri Lanka » pour un programme d'Étudiants Sans Frontières chez Uniterra (CECI & EUMC) Site Web Uniterra. C'est avec un enthousiasme débordant que je suis allée passer l'entrevue en septembre dernier chez Uniterra à Montréal et c'est quelques jours plus tard, le 2 octobre 2018, que j'ai reçu ma lettre d'acceptation!
C'est ainsi que je vais me retrouver à Hatton le 7 janvier 2019 pour une durée de 6 mois. Mon rôle en tant qu'étudiante en gestion sera de travailler en collaboration avec les ressources humaines de l'entreprise de plantation de thé Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVPL) Site Web KVPL dans l'implantation d'un Programme de Développement des Ressources Humaines. Autrement-dit, je vais m'engager à partager mon temps, mes connaissances et mes efforts pour que les jeunes et les femmes qui travaillent au sein de l'entreprise KVPL puissent être entendus selon leurs besoins et puissent avoir accès aux outils nécessaires afin de répondre à leurs besoins. L'approche derrière ces actions est celle de l'empowerment.
Ceci-dit, le stage reste non-rémunéré et les frais de scolarités sont autour de 1000$ pour la session de stage. D'autre part, Uniterra demande une contribution financière qui, pour ma part, est estimée à 2850$.

Les détails de cette contribution sont indiqués dans la description de chacun des mandats et peuvent être clarifiés par les membres de notre équipe ESF au besoin ([email redacted]) ou durant l’entrevue. »Site Web Uniterra
C'est ainsi que j'en arrive à faire cette levée de fond qui m'aiderait à diminuer l'impacte du stress financier et me permettrait de me dédier à ce stage. Mais pour rendre cela un peu plus intéressant, je propose à ma famille (amis de ma famille), mes ami(e)s (ami(e)s de mes ami(e)s) et mes collègues de travail, de me rejoindre lors d'un (ou deux) cours de Yoga Chaud / Hot Yoga le samedi 5 janvier 2019 au Centre IDOLEM de Blainville Site Web Idolem Blainville par le coût d'un billet de 20$/cours. Les cours sont offerts par l'inspirante Karo Lynn Makana.
Cours 1 - 13h30 -14h45: Thème sur l'Acceptation de ce qui a été avant 2019 (axé sur la force musculaire et l'endurance)
Cours 2 - 15h00-16h15: Thème sur la Contemplation de ce qui sera en 2019 (axé sur la relaxation, l'étirement et la détente)
Il vous suffira simplement de verser un don ici de 20$/cours et de m'écrire afin de réserver votre place aux cours de 13h ou/et 15h. Places limités. Ainsi, en échange de ce précieux don, vous aurez la chance de suer les calories du temps des fêtes avec moi, en plus d'accomplir votre première résolution 2019, soit: «prendre soin de soi».
De plus, voici les autres prix pour ceux et celles qui ne peuvent pas nous joindre aux cours de yoga:
- 15$ : envoie suprise d'une carte postale avec un petit mot, depuis le Sri Lanka.
- 25$: envoie suprise d'une carte postale peinte par moi-même à l'aquarelle avec un petit mot, depuis le Sri Lanka.
Palpitant n'est-ce pas? Tout ceci est possible grâce à ma merveilleuse ex-boss Pierrette Gauthier, propriétaire de l'IDOLEM Blainville qui me prête son studio avec une grande générosité.

My name is Alesandra Rossi and I would be very grateful for a moment of your time. As part of my master’s degree in Management for International Development and Humanitarian Action at Laval University, my final semester is an internship in Management at the international level in a "developing country".
For this internship I searched for a subject that interests me greatly: the study of women's affairs in developing countries. With a little more research and curiosity, I found a program for my ideal internship: "Women and Youth Inclusion Officer (1244-087) with Kelani Valley Plantation PLC (KVPL) in Hatton, Sri Lanka” run by an organization called Uniterra (WUSC & CECI) Uniterra Website. It was with overwhelming enthusiasm that I was granted an interview last September at the Uniterra office in Montreal and a few days later, on October 2, 2018, I received my acceptance letter.
So, as of January 7, 2019, I will find myself in Hatton, Sri Lanka for a period of 6 months. My role as a student manager will be to work in collaboration with the Human Resources department of the Kelani Valley Plantation (KVPL) KVPL Website in implementing a Human Development Program to improve the quality of life of women and youth employed at the plantation. In other words, I will commit to sharing my time, knowledge and efforts for the women and youth who work at KVPL so that they can be heard according to their needs and have access to the tools required to meet their needs. The approach behind these actions is that of empowerment.
Unfortunately the internship remains unpaid and the tuition fees are around $1,000 for my 6 month internship. Furthermore, Uniterra is asking for a financial contribution from my University which, for my part, is estimated at $ 2,850.

It is for this reason that I am having a fundraiser that will help reduce the financial stress as I prepare for my journey of helping others. So please, help me help others! To make this a little more interesting, I propose to my family (and family of my friends), my friends (and friends of my friends) and my fellow residents in Montreal, to join me during one (or two) Hot Yoga classes on Saturday January 5th, 2019 at the IDOLEM Blainville Center Idolem Website for the donation cost of a $20 ticket per class.
Class 1 - 13h30 -14h45 (75 min): Theme on the acceptance of what was before 2019 (focused on muscular strength and endurance)
Class 2 - 15h00-16h15 (75 min): Theme on the contemplation of what will be in 2019 (focused on relaxation and stretching)
All you have to do is donate $20 here for the class and write me a message to reserve your place at the 1.30pm and/or 3pm class. Limited places. SO! In exchange for your generous gift you will be rewarded with the opportunity to sweat out those holiday calories with me and get a head start on your first resolution of 2019: "take care of yourself!”
In addition, here are the other prizes for those who can not join us at yoga classes:
- $ 15: send a postcard with a little word, from Sri Lanka.
- $ 25: send a postcard painted by myself in watercolor with a note, from Sri Lanka.
Exciting right!?! All this is possible thanks to my wonderful ex-boss Pierrette Gauthier, owner of IDOLEM Blainville who lends me her studio with great generosity.
