Student-Led Effort to Revive Table of Hope

Hi everyone! We are Anna Koch and Alice Susilo, two students at Whippany Park High School. For the past few years, we have had the privilege of volunteering with Table of Hope, a nonprofit organization based in Morristown, NJ. Every week, we witness the incredible impact that this organization has, serving and assisting the underprivileged of our community. We are starting this fundraiser on behalf of Table of Hope during their time of need, hoping to continue their mission to provide for the less fortunate in our community. Our goal is to raise $10,000+ which will go directly towards funding the organization and allowing them to reopen their services as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, Table of Hope is facing overwhelming financial challenges, high operational costs, along with increased community demand, leading to no other choice but a temporary suspension of their services beginning on March 23, 2026. It is undetermined when the organization will be back up and running.

Since 2011, Table of Hope has been committed to improving the quality of life for Morris County families. Through nightly dinner services, educational drives, youth programs, environmental preservation, and weekly distributions, Table of Hope aspires to create an inclusive and sustainable community and helps to propel individuals towards self-sufficiency. Whether it’s the nightly dinner service that brings together not only the residents of Morristown, but volunteers of various backgrounds, or the massive drive-in grocery distributions on Thursdays and Fridays, Table of Hope has proved to be so much more than just an ordinary nonprofit organization. It is a lifeline for hundreds of families and a place where a sense of community is profoundly seen coming together for the needs of others.

Having been established in 2011 by Teresa Williams after Hurricane Irene, the location of Table of Hope—Bethel Church in Morristown—was transformed from debris and despair into a place of warmth and community. This organization allows individuals from numerous ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds to forge bonds of support and friendship, while enjoying a fresh cooked meal, and friendly service.

We are asking our friends, family, and the Morris County community to step up for an organization that has stepped up for us for over a decade. Your donation will go directly towards the operational costs needed to fund Table of Hope’s various services. Any amount helps; whether it’s $10 or $100, every dollar brings us closer to reopening the nonprofit. Please share this link on social media and within your local networks. The more people who see this, the faster we can help to restore these vital services.

Thank you for joining us in this effort to reopen Table of Hope. We are so grateful for any support that you can provide. Your generosity is the key to rebuilding an essential part of our community.

Sincerely,
Anna and Alice
