Queer stories are often told as tragedies with no happy ending. Seeing this same stereotype being implemented over and over again saddened me to the point of inspiration. I wanted to create a queer story that's a celebration of love, proving there is light at the other end of the tunnel and steering away from the devastation narrative. Being in the LGBTQ+ community is at times terrifying, but it shouldn’t always be that way. No one should ever feel excluded from the world based on who they love.
So with my story, I hope to inspire other queer persons to bury the guilt and shame of their pasts and move towards a more hopeful future. It took a while for me to come to terms with my own sexuality, having been both Ivy and Quinn, I know the process is difficult. But in the end, I know love prevails.
Logline: College roommates, Ivy and Quinn, share a secret relationship. After believing they poisoned their friend Alice at a party, they must face their relationship head-on while burying the body.
Synopsis: Quinn and Ivy are together but in secret. Quinn is ready to come out, while Ivy is still hesitant and scared. Shit gets real one night at a party, after they accidentally poison their friend. The night follows this conflict and what it means for the future of their relationship.
