Student Needs Our Help Getting to Graduation

Hi everyone,

My name is Lindsay and I'm fundraising to help a student. I'm a Special Education Teacher at a Title 1 High School in New Haven, CT. At school, I met this student as he has a severe learning and processing disability which is why I'm not providing his name or photo. He struggled his entire life but just turned 18. Mom was shot and as a result, is a quadriplegic and unable to care for him. He's been staying with a friend's mother and intended to stay with her until graduation but the family is being evicted and he is unable to move with them. He truly is stuck and has worked so hard to at least get his high school diploma.

I’ve been helping the student with expenses through out the year out of my own pocket but his expenses will increase and I can no longer afford support him as necessary.

This money will be used to provide food, clothing, a replacement birth certificate and social security card (as he’s unable to find work until he gets a state ID and cannot do it without these forms) and eventually towards whatever helps he needs towards stable housing.
