Hi, I’m Chloe second year student midwife with 3 children.

An amazing opportunity has arisen to help and volunteer at a hospital in Kandy, Sri Lanka, this June.

As part of my degree, i have the chance to undertake an elective placement in a diverse area. Volunteering in a healthcare setting that faces the challenges of poverty will allow me to witness first-hand the stark contrasts in maternal care between Sri Lanka and the NHS. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with mothers from diverse cultures, religions, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds. This experience will shape me into a holistic, compassionate Midwife who can provide the best care no matter the setting.

However this journey comes with costs; accommodation, flights, visas, medical equipment and vaccinations.
