My name is Virginia, and my family is at a point where we can’t move forward without help. A combination of job loss, lost SNAP benefits, medical issues, and rising costs has pushed us into a very hard place. We’re doing everything we can to get back on our feet, but right now we’re falling short and need support to bridge the gap.

We’re working hard to return to a stable, normal life. My husband lost his job when the company left our area, and the only income we currently have is my small Social Security check. It simply isn’t enough to cover basic needs, medical supplies, and bills. Job hunting is ongoing, but the market has been tough, and many employers hesitate to hire people in our situation.

Here’s what we need help with while we work toward stability:

1. Basic necessities — Food and everyday essentials until we can secure steady employment.

2. Medical supplies — I’ve been in and out of the hospital over the past year and need supplies every other day to manage my condition. These costs add up quickly. We have Amazon wish lists for medical items if anyone prefers to help that way (links below).

3. Food support — We were removed from SNAP during the renewal process, and feeding our family has become extremely difficult. We do receive some food pantry items, but we can’t cook everything. We share what we can’t use with our local community fridge.

4. Essential bills — My Social Security income doesn’t cover everything. We’re trying to keep up with phone service (critical for job hunting and medical needs), our storage unit (where most of our belongings are), car insurance, and our mailbox.

5. Gas — We need fuel to get to job sites, food banks, medical appointments, and other essential places.

6. Non‑food essentials — Items like paper plates, plastic cutlery, toiletries, and other basics are needed to keep going.

7. Medical bills — Both my son and I have had recent hospital visits, and the bills are overwhelming. We would like to start paying something on these.

8. Amazon wish list items — We keep these updated with things we urgently need:

Any help — whether through donations or purchasing from our lists — makes a real difference. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for supporting us during one of the hardest periods of our lives.
