My name is Garson, and I have four children.We left due to severe emotional and psychological abuse. At the hands of an alcoholic narcissist. Gianna is 12 and suffers with a learning disability and ADHD. Cameron is 10. He has been very effected by the abuse we suffer suffered and would stand up to his father in defense of me. This was heartbreaking. It is no child's job to mediate a violent situation. This was one of the last straws for me. He has ADHD and anxiety. He is super creative. My son Caleb is almost 8. He is super intelligent but still a bit angry at times. And Chaz is 3. He doesn't remember much thankfully. But all he knows is motel rooms.

This past summer, myself and four children left my husband of 12 years due to domestic violence. We entered a domestic violence shelter for two months but have been struggling to find stable housing ever since. Social services is of limited help and has us moving from motel to homeless shelter ever since. They receive any child support in return for the limited help I receive from them. My heart breaks daily for my children. My only wish is to provide them with a stable, consistent home. Before leaving my husband he had us living in motels for years. My dream is to be able to pay security deposit and first months rent on an apartment. Any extra would be used towards rent. I worked for years with animals. I've run a no kill shelter and also been a vet tech. I'm looking for work in that area again. Also if I can get off of assistance I can collect child support. This is the first time in 41 years I have needed assistance through the state. It's a very humbling experience.
