Struggling Family In Raleigh who needs our help
Donation protected
This last week I met a family of 5 with 3 young children ages 4,3, and 10 months. They had no place to stay, no food to eat, and no means of transportation due to their car being broken down. After speaking to them for a while I found out more of their personal struggles that I couldn’t imagine going through that I will leave out of this message to respect their privacy.
The parents have found jobs at a local pizza and ice cream shop here in Raleigh and are doing everything they can to get on their feet and provide for their children. However, as we all know, at times it seems like everything is working against us and we can’t catch a break…this family has unfortunately found themselves in this spot.
I was able to put them in a hotel until tomorrow and provided them with enough food to get by (this is not about me). However, they are back on the street tomorrow.
Last week I asked them what their plan was to find housing for their family and the father mentioned that they were going to see if a church would donate $50 to be able to put a down deposit to get them in a spot for few days. It absolutely floored me when he said that they didn’t have the $50 to put down. My first thought went to their children and their safety, nutrition, and overall ability to just have the chance to be a child.
What I would love to do for this family is support them enough financially to get them into long term housing, put enough food on the table so that they don’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, and potentially fix their car so that they can get to and from work so that they can crawl out of the hole that they are in.
Any help with this would be sincerely appreciated more than you know. This family is genuinely kind and sweet, they just need to catch a break. If you are willing and able, please bless this family. Whether it’s $1 or $100, every little bit helps.
Thank you so much
