Stronger Together: Save the NOFC!

The New Orleans Food Co-op needs your help. Rising costs and lower sales have depleted our working capital, and now we are in danger of closing. We are a vital community resource and support dozens of local farms and producers. We also provide a great work environment and fair wages to our staff. NOFC is Louisiana’s ONLY cooperatively owned grocery store and is crucial to the cooperative movement as a whole.
These funds will allow us to pay all of our current outstanding invoices and continue to pay all of our bills over the next few months while we execute a new plan to grow sales. We will also use the funds to increase our inventory, so our shelves can once again be full. In addition, we will be able to upgrade our lighting to improve the look and feel of our co-op.
We won’t be able to continue operations without a successful fundraising campaign. We’ve survived challenges in the past and know that we can get through our current challenges, but we can’t do it alone. There is strength in numbers, and with almost 5,000 members, we can do this. We will also need the support of other co-ops and cooperative organizations around the country. We are truly stronger together.
