Earlier this month, our preschool experienced a frightening situation that shook our entire community. A man entered the daycare under the guise of requesting a tour, but the situation quickly took an unexpected turn. While we are incredibly grateful that nothing serious happened, it was a wake-up call we cannot ignore.

Shortly after, this individual posted false and harmful statements about our daycare provider in a local Facebook group, adding further stress to an already unsettling experience. Despite this, our focus remains where it belongs: protecting the children and staff who make this place so special.

In response, the daycare is taking steps to strengthen its security by installing a secure entry door system. This upgrade will ensure that only authorized individuals can enter the building, giving parents and staff much-needed peace of mind.

Unfortunately, these systems come with a high cost. As a small, family-owned daycare—one that has already overcome tremendous hardship, including rebuilding after losing everything in the Camp Fire—this is an unexpected and overwhelming expense.

As a parent and community member, I feel strongly that we must come together to support them. This daycare is more than just a place for childcare—it’s a safe, loving environment for our children and a cornerstone of our community.
