This funding will be distributed to global majority members who stepped up into educator roles and significantly enhanced our collective training experience.
This funding will augment current scholarships which are symbolic at best, and only cover a maximum of $370 for qualifying members of the global majority, which is entirely insufficient to enhance access.
Access to IFS Training and Leadership opportunities for members of the global majority (and LGBTQIA+ members) is important as;
1) We collectively value and honor the contributions of the global majority, and of LGBTQIA+, members within the IFS Community.
2) We recognize the emotional labor of individuals when they carry the burden of representing specific diverse populations in isolation, as opposed to being one of many voices enriching the conversation and potential for growth.
3) Uplifting and highlighting voices of those often systemically silenced by patriarchy, racism, individualism and materialism enriches and benefits us all in countless ways. This includes enhancing all of our work to develop self-leadership within a context of racism, individualism, materialism, and patriarchy.
4) IFS Research will be strengthened by an increased number of practitioners (and likely client’s) representing diverse populations.
5) We recognize trauma is unequally distributed within oppressive systems, and that access is one effective strategy (among many) to interrupt that cycle, and to collectively heal from where we are right now.
