Support for Skyler Banks

Skyler Banks is a local student, who completed 8th grade last year at Dacusville Middle School. This summer, Skyler was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called blue cell sarcoma. His form is so rare that he has doctors from across the country working together on his care team.

Since June, Skyler has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, He has a hospital stay 6 days 1 week then he goes 2 days the next week and then 1 day at the clinic, and then the schedule repeats. Skyler and his family have been told this is what his schedule looks like until the end of the year. The cancer began in his leg, and because the tumors are on blood vessels and nerves, removing them is not an option. The hope is to save Skyler’s leg. So far, he has received 7 different types of chemotherapy and continues to fight with incredible strength.

Next week, Skyler begins a 6-day hospital stay for chemo. After that, he’ll be in the clinic daily until his next long hospital stay. Through it all, his courage inspires everyone around him.

Skyler is raised by his grandparents, who are also caring for six other grandchildren. His grandmother, Roxanne, faithfully stays by his side in the hospital while making sure the needs of all the children are met. The expense of daily needs has created a heavy financial burden, as her disability income can only stretch so far.

Now, it’s our turn to come together as a community and help lift this family up. Skyler has an army of support around him, and every prayer, word of encouragement, and financial gift makes a difference.

If you are able, please consider making a donation. Nothing is too big or too small—it all adds up to hope and love for Skyler and his family.

As Galatians 6:2 reminds us: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus for this precious family.
