Strength Beyond Words: Supporting Malaki

Yesterday, our lives forever changed. Our sweet baby boy had been complaining about neck pain for over a week now. He had been seen a couple of times but was thought to have maybe fallen and hurt himself, which caused tense muscles. After worsening in just a short amount of time, we took him back for more tests... Malaki has a massive and aggressive brain tumor that is leaking spinal fluid into his brain and putting pressure on his spinal stem. He got to go on a little helicopter ride to the Castle in Sioux Falls while Mom and Dad had to drive down there. Things are worse than they initially thought after doing even more tests. They said it has probably been growing for a while and only just now showing symptoms. He has a drain for the fluid in his brain and sadly says, "My hair is gone!" Surgery to remove the tumor is scheduled for tomorrow and we will go from there with a great possibility of chemo and another surgery to get the rest out. He still is sassy and the good news is that they are surprised with how well he's doing - all things considered! Please keep him and our family in your thoughts. Our little man has gone through so much already at just 4 years old and we are incredibly heartbroken. We will try to update when we can. We are unsure of how our future will look, but we are trying to remain positive. We have a long road to recovery for everything, but hopefully, all things go well and we can get our bubs back to his normal silly self. ❤️
