This Thanksgiving we are set to take on the Speed Project Atacama.

TSP ATA, or The Speed Project Atacama, is an extreme, self-supported ultra-endurance relay race that takes place across the Atacama Desert in Chile.

THE EVENT

The Speed Project Atacama challenges participants to run over 300 miles (500km) through harsh, remote terrain, from the coast of Iquique to the desert oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, in just a few days. It is an invite-only, "no rules" event emphasizing human perseverance and teamwork.

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of good friends who have trained together and had a ton of fun together, and who have inspired each other to push harder with love. We are personal trainers, fitness instructors and coaches, for whom fitness is a way of life and a way for us to build community and inspire others. We are excited to tackle this challenge together.

THE WHY

Each and every day we are all met with challenges – health, career, families, friends, past, future. We all thought - what were to happen if we focused on the NOW, choosing the harder path rather than the easier one. Each one of us comes with a different story. But no matter the story, we have one thing in common, our Why.

We find purpose through movement—driven by fitness, fueled by adventure, and rooted in community. We want to support each other and to inspire others to take on challenges that may change our lives.

We are the Straw Hat Runners.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We are a team of 10 people – 6 of us will run, and 4 of us will support the runners through the race. The expenses of the team include flights, accommodation and food, and any financial support you could provide would be super appreciated.

In addition, we’ll count on you for moral support – it will be a challenging event but we hope to inspire all of you to bust out of your comfort zone and join us in pushing ourselves. REALLY pushing ourselves!

Our goal is universal – we want to find out who we are as humans, and find people who are on the same journey. Finding this common thread will allow all of us to see life knowing that we can do anything together – but only by knowing who we are as individuals. It may be cliché but…it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. We’d love for you to come on this journey with us.
