Hi, my name is Peach, and I'm reaching out because I urgently need help.
I was on my way to work at the Shambhala Music Festival when I got caught in a rainstorm near Castlegar, BC.
To stay safe in the wet conditions, I slowed down and put my hazard lights on. Unfortunately, I was pulled over by police. Even though I was just trying to drive safely, they issued me an ICBC inspection order for my van, deeming it potentially unsafe.
Now, I'm stranded in Castlegar, over 12 hours away from home (Victoria, BC) - with my dog, no transportation, and no way to get back until I get my van repaired and cleared by inspection.
I've been sleeping in a tent outside a garage parking lot, in the middle of a heatwave, with no shade or cooling.
My dog and I are struggling to stay cool, and I don't have the money to fix the van, buy dog food, eat properly, or even cover basic daily needs.
Here's the breakdown of the costs I'm facing:
- ICBC Inspection: $200 x 2 = $400(One to identify needed repairs, another after repairs are done)
- Wiper Motor: $600
- Driver Door Latch: $400
- Driver Side Window: $400
- Rear Cylinders: $425
- Oil Cooler Lines: $427
- Muffler: $620.
Total Estimated Costs: ~$3,000
I'm doing everything I can to stay positive, but I can't do this without help.
I'm far from home, unable to work, and just trying to get back on my feet (and wheels) so I can continue on with life.
If you're able to contribute or share this, it would mean the world to me and my dog. Every dollar helps get us one step closer to home, safety, and stability.
Thank you for reading and caring.
